Where can I get my watch band replaced?

Where can I get my watch band replaced?

Changing a watch strap is a process that involves removing the old strap from the watch case and replacing it with a replacement strap. This is advantageous if your current strap is worn out or broken, if you want to change the look of your watch, or if you need to switch your current strap for one which is more appropriate for a certain occasion.

Measure the width between your watch lugs (where the strap attaches to the watch) to make sure you’re buying the right size strap. A strap too big will bunch up and pop off or won’t fit on. A strap too small will have an unsightly gap or an annoying shifting motion as your watch moves separately from your strap.

Get the right length

Most watch straps come in a standard length that will fit most wrists. If your wrists are very big or very small, you might want to consider getting or shorter or longer strap. Measure the size of your wrist with a soft tape measure or wrap a piece of paper around your wrist and then lay it flat and measure it.

Get the right tools

Watch straps are removed with a spring bar tool. Cheap ones cost around $10 and make it a lot easier to get your old strap off and your new strap on. In a pinch, you can use a small screwdriver or a knife. You’ll also need a soft cloth for your watch to rest on so it doesn’t get scratched. If your watch has no strap on at all, it might be missing the spring bars. You can buy new ones for a few dollars, although a few strap companies include spring bars for free. The bars are also measured in millimeters and will need to be bought to size.

Check the hardware

Rarely, some watch straps are sold without buckles, so check the listing before you buy. You don’t want to end up buying a nice strap only to find out you must also buy a buckle to go along with it. On the other hand, you might want to replace the standard buckle with a new one that matches your case. Most replacement watch strap hardware is brushed or stainless steel, so if you have a watch case that is neither of those two colors, you might want to look into getting matching hardware somewhere else. Common other colors include gold, rose gold and black.

Are all watch bands replaceable?

Yes, most of our watch straps are interchangeable and can be easily swapped to change the look of your watch. Our carefully selected assortment of straps allows you to change the style of your watch depending on occasion, mood and personal preference.

  1. Place your Apple Watch face down over a clean surface like a lint-free, micro-fiber cloth or soft, padded mat.
  2. If you have a Link Bracelet, press the quick release button on a link to separate the band into two pieces.
  3. Hold down the band release button, then slide the band across to remove it.
  4. If the band doesn't slide out, press the band release button again and make sure that you hold it down.
  5. Make sure that the text on the band is facing you, then slide the new band in until you feel and hear a click.

If you have a Solo Loop or Braided Solo Loop, simply pull from the bottom of the band to stretch it over your wrist when you put it on and take it off. In 2018, the Milanese Loop was redesigned so that you could open the band completely by sliding the magnetic closure through the band connector, or lug. On earlier Milanese Loop models, the closure won't slide through the lug.

Never force the band into the slot. If you don't feel or hear a click, slide the band to the left, then to the right. If the band is installed properly, it won’t freely slide until you hold down the band release button. If the band still doesn’t lock, center the band, and push it into place. Then carefully wiggle the band up and down. Don't wear your Apple Watch if the band is sliding.

How do I measure my watch band size for replacement watch band?

Make sure that you use a band that corresponds to your Apple Watch case size. You can use a band that's designed for Apple Watch (1st generation) and Apple Watch Series 1, 2, and 3 with Apple Watch Series 4 and later and Apple Watch SE as long as the sizes are compatible:

  • Bands for 38mm, 40mm, and 41mm cases are compatible with cases of all three of those sizes.
  • Bands for 42mm, 44mm, and 45mm cases are compatible with cases of all three of those sizes.

People come in all shapes and sizes, though, and so do tastes. Some women will want the bigger Apple Watch, and some men, the smaller. Some people with small wrists will want the bigger watch and vice versa. Since Apple only offers some bands in some sizes, if you have your heart set on a certain band, you may have to be willing to go with the size that matches it. That said, you can get 3rd-party knockoffs for everything in every size and then some, so it doesn't truly matter if you're looking for the best Apple Watch bands.

APPLE WATCH BAND LENGTHS

These lengths can be added to the Apple Watch size to approximately equal the circumference of your wrist, give or take a few millimeters. We recommend using Apple's watch band size chart for the best fit, but these measurements can still come in handy!

  • 130 mm is 5.12 inches
  • 140 mm is 5.51 inches
  • 200 mm is 7.87 inches
  • 220 mm is 8.66 inches

If you are looking for a kid size Apple Watch band, the 130 mm may be your best option. You can also shop third-party watch bands specifically made for children with smaller wrists!

What types of replacement watch bands are available for apple watch?

Apple Watch comes with bands that are easy to mix and match any band with any watch. You can swap them out as your heart desires without the aid of any tools—as long as the band and watch are the same size.  Apple has its own proprietary system to make switching bands easy—but that also means you probably won’t be able to swap in just any band. And even if Apple’s bands fit your watch, the finish might be different: The solid-gold hardware accents on the rose gray Modern Buckle band won’t match the anodized aluminum finish of the Apple Watch Sport, for example.

However, there are other sellers like WristWatchStraps.co who gives you wide range of variety to choose from without any limitations. You can get any Watch band you want for your Apple watch starting from $5.

How to I decide the best replacement watch band?

There are so many Apple Watch band options that they're often categorized by the material. Have you ever wondered which material is the best for an Apple Watch band? Which one is the most Cool? Durable? Or fashionable?

METAL

Metals commonly used for an Apple Watch Band include platinum, gold, stainless steel, and titanium.

LEATHER

Leather Apple Watch bands can go with formal and casual attire as they are elegant yet low-profile.

NYLON/FABRIC

Nylon is a tough synthetic fabric or polyester and is incredibly easy to produce. You can buy nylon Apple Watch bands with varied patterns and colors that don't cost much.

SILICONE

Silicone is swim-proof and sweat-proof - great news for sportspeople. Unfortunately, it's a dust magnet, attracting masses of dust particles compared to other materials, so it needs to be cleaned regularly.

CERAMIC

Ceramic, harder than stainless steel or gold, is challenging to work with, which means it's not an everyday watch or watch band material. It does, of course, fit the "luxury" range, so companies manage to process it into watch faces and bands.
