Georgia's victory over Alabama in the College Football Playoff National Championship was one for the history books. The Bulldogs won their first national title since 1980, beating an undefeated Tide squad that had never lost a game under Nick Saban. It was all thanks to a suffocating defense, led by Roquan Smith and Davin Bellamy with their relentless pass rush coming on 3rd-and-long situations. But it also took some luck - Jake Fromm threw two interceptions after getting away with several others - plus an opportunistic offense that scored on four of its last five drives to put this game out of reach.
It was a tight contest between Georgia and Alabama all day long, but it ended with an 33 - 18 victory for our boys from Athens over their counterparts from Tuscaloosa. The Bulldogs' victory was came down to one play 78 yards away from sealing the deal. Defending national champion Alabama fell short against their in-state rival, Georgia Tech who beat them 33 - 18 earlier this month before Monday night's big game at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Stetson Bennett completed 17 out 26 passes for 224 yards and two touchdowns while also rushing for 27 more on 3 attempts during his performance tonight.
